Who I am:
I’m a writer, editor, reporter and Internet enthusiast.
Mostly, I’m a girl with a lot of interests. I have a penchant for appropriate musical handclaps and a pretty no-nonsense policy against geographically named bands.
My life began in a hospital in Memphis, Tenn., but I grew up exclusively in the suburbs of Atlanta. I studied journalism and film and media studies at Northwestern.
My mom says I’m a catch.
What I’m about:
My work has appeared in Time Out, Make It Better, Paste, Atlanta magazine, The A.V. Club/The Onion, Maura Magazine, American Way and San Francisco magazine.
In addition to my expertise in digital marketing and engagement, I’ve worked extensively in service and retail, in restaurants, coffee shops and the like. As such, I possess an extensive knowledge of noodles, a (sometimes snobby) taste for espresso tonics, a lifetime supply of yoga tights, and unwavering patience.
At current, I work in digital engagement at KQED, the acclaimed PBS & NPR member station that serves Northern California; I spend much of my free time exploring San Francisco with my longtime partner and our goofy dogs, Gravy and Cricket. I occasionally host a pub quiz at a local spot.
I’m in the market for freelance opportunities. Give me a shout at cckeevan [at] gmail [dot] com.
